Nutrition International and the Philippines government partner to upgrade wheat flour fortification standards to fight micronutrient deficiencies

This technical report presents the economic model and benefit-cost ratio that estimates the health and productivity benefits of wheat flour fortification in reducing the current levels of micronutrient deficiencies in Indonesia. The model estimates the health and productivity benefits of wheat flour fortification while the benefit-cost analysis quantifies the economic consequences of not addressing the current high prevalence of iron deficiency anaemia, folate and zinc deficiency in Indonesia over the next 10 years (from 2023-32).
