The Cost of Inaction Knowledge Briefs
Overview
Nutrition International’s Cost of Inaction knowledge briefs quantify the health, human capital and economic losses associated with malnutrition — making the consequences of underinvestment impossible to ignore. Developed collaboratively across the organization’s Advocacy, Health Economics and Nutrition Financing and Communications units, these country- and region-specific briefs translate complex evidence into clear, accessible messages for decision makers.
Using compelling data and visuals, the briefs demonstrate how reducing stunting, low birthweight and anaemia can generate substantial economic returns and strengthen national development. Designed as practical advocacy tools, they support engagement with governments, donors and partners by clearly articulating both the costs of inaction and the returns on investing in nutrition.
