Paula Tenaglia is Nutrition International’s Vice President of Programs. In this role, she leads the organization’s international Programs team, overseeing a diverse and expanding portfolio of initiatives across Africa and Asia. She also guides the specialized expertise in monitoring, data and learning, and gender equality that underpins all of Nutrition International’s work. Working closely with headquarters, regional and country teams, the Programs team drives sustainable, lifelong improvements in health and nutrition for people in need, especially women, adolescent girls and their families.

With over 20 years of experience in international public health and nutrition across the development and humanitarian sectors, Paula has worked with various international and civil society organizations in countries throughout Africa, Asia and Latin America. She brings extensive experience in project and grant management, fundraising, team leadership, learning and development.

Prior to assuming this role, Paula served as the Senior Director of Program Operations at Nutrition International and has held positions with the World Food Programme in Guatemala and Action Against Hunger International including Chief Operations Officer of the Canada headquarters, Country Director in South Sudan and Sierra Leone, and Director of the Regional Training Center in East Africa.

Paula holds a Master’s degree in Migration and Refugee Studies from the University of Sussex in the United Kingdom and a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in International Development Studies from the University of Guelph in Canada.
