Folic acid fortification of iodized salt improves the folate status of nonpregnant adult Ethiopian females and does not impart their iodine status: a community-based, household-randomized, dose-response trial

This study shows that double-fortifying iodized salt with folic acid safely improves folate status in adult women without affecting iodine levels.
