Lancet Series on Maternal and Child Nutrition Event
Posted on September 20, 2013
September 27, 15h-17h Eastern Time
The 2013 Lancet Series on Maternal and Child Nutrition – a follow up from the ground breaking work of the 2008 series – reinforces that nutrition is crucial to both individual and national development. It recognizes the work done to date and points out that the nutrition agenda remains unfinished. The Series of four papers highlights 10 proven interventions that could help us save over 1 million children’s lives and protect 33 million more from stunted growth and development.
On September 27, principal paper authors – including Canadian champions in the field of global nutrition, such as MI´s Venkatesh Mannar – will be in Ottawa to discuss the leadership role of Canada in tackling undernutrition and the findings of their research, with recommendations on how to deliver results, faster. The event is in partnership with the Micronutrient Initiative (MI), the Aga Khan Foundation Canada and the Canadian Network for Maternal, Newborn and Child Health.
We hope you can join us for this event, either in person or via the live webcast. This is the first event for the 2013 Maternal and Child Nutrition Series that is being webcast.
