Sex- and Gender-Based Analysis (SGBA): A Toolkit for Nutrition Programs
Overview
This toolkit has been created to provide nutrition practitioners with guidance and tools to conduct sex- and gender-based analysis (SBGA) within their programs. It is based on the premise that gender equality and improved nutrition are mutually reinforcing; that a woman’s empowerment status is interconnected with her nutritional status and that addressing underlying gendered barriers and constraints will improve nutritional outcomes in programming. Drawing from a range of best practices, this document includes information on recruiting gender equality expertise, analytical frameworks, as well as steps to create a gender action plan and develop partnerships that will support gender equality objectives.
