Overview

Nutrition International, along with the Association of the Indian Coalition for the Control of Iodine Deficiency Disorders (ICCIDD) commissioned, a first of its kind national level survey titled “India Iodine Survey 2018-19”, across all 29 states and 7 union territories. The survey revealed that 76.3% of the population were consuming adequately iodized salt (≥ 15ppm) and the iodine nutrition status of the population, assessed by median Urinary Iodine Concentration, was found to be adequate as per the World Health Organization guidelines.
