Cost of diversification of food diets through ICDS and PM-POSHAN: A case of Telangana
Overview
This paper presents a detailed economic analysis and recommendations to support the development of diversified diets under two social net safety programs — ICDS and PM-Poshan — in the state of Telangana, India. The analysis aimed to estimate the cost implications of dietary diversification and identify the most feasible meal options based on cost, consumer preference and availability. The analyses were conducted separately for each of the population groups – pregnant women, lactating mothers, children between seven months to three years, and children between four to six years under the ICDS, primary and upper primary school children under PM-POSHAN
