This brief makes the case for greater integration in Pakistan’s large-scale fortification (LSFF) sector. Developed for owners of edible oil and wheat flour mills, salt processing units and industry associations, it draws on research from Pakistan and global evidence to show how increasing women’s participation can contribute to stronger business performance.
The brief examines women’s current participation in the sector, presents examples of Pakistani businesses already implemented gender-responsive practices and identifies structural, institutional and cultural barriers to women’s employment. It also provides practical solutions and entry points that LSFF businesses can use to recruit, retain and advance women.
