Copenhagen Consensus 2008 – Best Practice Paper: Micronutrient Supplements for Child Survival (Vitamin A and Zinc)
Overview
In the Copenhagen Consensus, 2008, a group of world‐renowned economists ranked micronutrient supplements (specifically high‐dose vitamin A, and therapeutic zinc supplements for children with diarrhea) as the top international development priority. This Best Practice Paper clearly outlines current progress, successes, challenges, and solutions surrounding Vitamin A and Zinc supplementation. This paper also provides a cost‐benefit analysis of the specific solutions to provide decision‐makers with in‐depth recommendations on project implementation at a national level, which may be valuable for governments, international organizations, NGO’s and philanthropists.
