Alison Greig is the Senior Director of Programs, Technical at Nutrition International, where she provides strategic technical leadership and guidance across the organization’s global programming portfolio. Her guidance spans multiple areas, including adolescent and women’s health and nutrition, child survival, maternal and newborn health and nutrition, nutrition governance, large-scale food fortification and complex nutrition interventions.

Drawing on her extensive experience, Alison maintains a particular focus on the Child Survival portfolio. This includes oversight of Nutrition International’s global efforts in vitamin A supplementation, diarrhoea management with zinc and lo-osmolarity oral rehydration salts, and infant and young child nutrition.

In addition to her advisory role, Alison develops and manages a portfolio of global projects in close collaboration with Nutrition International’s Research and Development unit. She plays a central role in building the evidence base, with a particular focus on implementation research within child survival programs.

With over 30 years of experience in public health, nutrition, program management, monitoring, evaluation and results-based reporting, Alison also brings specialized expertise in program design, health systems strengthening, implementation and monitoring, vitamin A capsule procurement, and nutrition commodity supply chain management. She also represents Nutrition International’s child survival work on the global stage and currently serves as the Chair of the Global Alliance for Vitamin A (GAVA) — an informal alliance of partners committed to achieving consensus on research, policy and program evidence-based approaches to achieve optimal vitamin A intake among vulnerable populations.

Alison holds a Bachelor’s of Science with Honours in Biology from Queens University and a Master’s of Science in Public Health from the University of London.
