As Chief Operating Officer, Steve Gilbert is responsible for building the structures and processes Nutrition International needs to achieve a fully funded 2025–2031 Investment Case, while also mobilizing funds from new sources.
Previously serving as Vice-President of Operations, Steve led the delivery of Nutrition International’s core programming. His responsibilities included oversight of project planning, implementation, monitoring, and ensuring donor accountability and reporting.
With over 30 years of management and consulting experience in the international development sector, Steve’s career has taken him around the world, with long-term assignments in Indonesia, Cuba, Guyana and Costa Rica.
Steve holds a Bachelor of Science in Physics and Mathematics from the University of Toronto.
Before joining Nutrition International in 2013, Steve worked as a consultant to the World Bank in the Africa water sector and held several roles with CARE International, including Vice-President of International Operations at CARE Canada.
