As Senior Director, People and Culture, Grant Carioni is responsible for leading Nutrition International’s overall human resources strategy, global talent acquisition, leadership development, diversity and inclusion, organizational design and cultural development, employee education, compensation and benefits, HR technology, and employee relations.
While Grant has been in the international development and humanitarian sector for more than six years, he is an experienced global HR leader with more than 20 years HR experience and 15 years leading and developing people within the mobile tech and banking industry. Most recently, Grant led a wide portfolio of human resources, humanitarian, and safety & security professionals in an executive role at CARE Canada.
Grant’s work is driven by a fundamental philosophy that HR professionals are business enablers and shepherds of people and culture. His leadership in equity, diversity and inclusion has been key in unlocking the potential of all staff, supporting the strategic vision, and aligning culture to that vision.
Grant’s board experience as management and as a director-at-large has enabled him to develop a keen appreciation of, and respect for, effective governance.
Grant holds a Bachelor of Environmental Studies degree from the University of Waterloo, an Environmental Assessment certification, a minor in Human Resources and a master’s degree in Industrial Relations from Queen’s University.
