Follow the vitamin A to an island in Bangladesh
Md. Habibullah is a health worker in Jamalpur, Bangladesh. He’s responsible for administering vitamin A during the Bangladesh government’s National Vitamin A Plus Campaign (NVAC+). But Habibullah has a special assignment. He is part of the team putting the Child to Child Searching Strategy into effect – going door to door, to remote and hard-to-reach areas, to ensure no child is left behind.
According to the National Micronutrient Survey 2019-20, over 50% of children under five in Bangladesh are vitamin A deficient. Reaching all children between the ages of six months and five years, including those living in areas with limited resources and access to health services, with a twice-annual dose of vitamin A is essential to offset the impacts of vitamin A deficiency.
Nutrition International has been a long-standing partner of the Government of Bangladesh’s vitamin A campaign, providing critical technical support and guidance to strengthen service delivery. Watch to see this program in action.
