Nutrition International highlights Canada-Africa partnership to advance nutrition, health and education goals

The purpose of this work was to summarize the impetus for and approach to the consultation for the Micronutrient Forum’s proceedings from the technical consultation: Folate Status in Women and Neural Tube Defect Prevention.
The piece provides concise summaries and feedback for each of the eight technical reports related to the three thematic areas covered in the consultation: (1) Folate status assessment of women of reproductive age; (2) Neural Tube Defect (NTD) burden and surveillance; and (3) Interventions for NTD prevention.
The conclusions review the challenges identified in each thematic areas and make recommendations to overcome these impediments to create a framework for action.
